Healers, Organizers, and Neighbors: The Heart of the Mission
Dade County Street Response (DCSR) is more than just a medical provider; we are a dedicated collective of healers, organizers, and residents working to bridge the gap in Miami’s healthcare system.
Our team is built on a "Solidarity, Not Charity" model. We go beyond immediate medical needs to address the foundational systems of neglect—housing, criminalization, and systemic racism—that impact our neighbors' health. We utilize participatory action research and trauma-informed care to ensure every patient is seen, heard, and respected.
From our mobile crisis vans to the Freedom Lab, we are building a new standard of healthcare centered on community trust and collective care.

Our Lead Case Manager: Berlinda Dixon - 2026 Inspiring Woman of Health
We are incredibly proud to announce that our own Berlinda Dixon has been named the 2026 Inspiring Woman of Health by the Health Foundation of South Florida.
Berlinda is the lead case manager and, without question, the main attraction of our clinic. To her colleagues, she is known as the clinical "quarterback," coordinating care and resources for patients whom the standard system has excluded. To her patients, she is a trusted advocate and a life-saving force.
Berlinda’s unique approach is rooted in profound empathy and cultural competence. She excels at de-escalating mental health crises, obtaining vital documents, and navigating complex bureaucratic systems for housing and long-term care. Berlinda doesn’t just fill out paperwork; she builds a permanent, supportive safety net around every individual she serves.
Congratulations, Berlinda, on this well-deserved honor!
