ABOUT US
Dade County Street Respense (DCSR) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to serving the most disenfranchised communities in Miami-Date County. Our organization started in 2017 with Stop the Beed workshops in areas with high incidence of gun violence. In 2018, a Disaster Relief Team was started with the mission of responding to low-income communities before, during, and after environmental crises. Then, in 2020 (during the pandemic), DCSR partnered with the Mami Street Medicine (MSM) program to expand services with a longitudinal outreach clinic. MSM serves people experiencing unsheltered homelessness directly with healthcare and social services throughout the year. Since then, we have since expanded DCSR’s services by opening a free urgent care clinic, Doctors Within Borders. Additionally, DCSR has opened its programming to educate medical professionals at UM/Jackson about the unique needs and circumstances of our patients. Our programs all work together in deep coalition and have remained committed to serving our community and improving the lives of our patients.
Together, our teams are able to offer free medical care, case management, MedEd and community programs, legal advocacy, and a groundbreaking model for disaster relief teams.
