ABOUT US
The Dade County Street Response (DCSR) exists to serve those most affected by poverty and oppression in Miami Dade County. DCSR’s Disaster Relief Team was founded in 2018 with the goal of organizing community services in low-income areas in preparation and response to disasters. In 2020, DCSR’s Disaster Relief Team partnered with the Miami Street Medicine (MSM) clinic. MSM was founded in 2018, determined to bring healthcare services and follow-up directly to our neighbors on the street.
Together, we have continued to expand DCSR by opening a free urgent care, Doctors Within Borders, alongside our community partners, Black Men Build and The Village (Free)dge in Liberty City. Throughout the year, our Miami Street Medicine clinic offers medical outreach and case management. Our community organizing team develops education and advocacy events regarding climate change, social justice, health, and homelessness. And during hurricane season, our disaster relief team organizes relief efforts across South Florida to assure residents safe shelter, food, water, and medical care.
